(Final Iteration) VTOL Drone for Extended Flight
For the final iteration, the VTOL drone was redesigned to improve forward-flight stability and structural stiffness. A larger tail assembly was added to generate sufficient stabilizing lift and moment control during cruise, helping the aircraft maintain pitch stability after transitioning from vertical takeoff to forward flight. In addition, support structures were added between the rear boom rods to reduce torsional twisting and improve rigidity under aerodynamic and motor loads.
These improvements allowed the aircraft to reach its final configuration: a lightweight, 3D-printable tricopter VTOL platform designed for stable transition, efficient forward flight, and practical rapid prototyping. The final design reflects an iterative engineering process where aerodynamic stability, structural support, and manufacturability were continuously refined.
